Why It Came To Labor Shortage?
Why It Came To Labor Shortage?

According to numbers from the US Labor Department, there were 10.4 million jobs open in August.

The numbers also show 4.3 million individuals intentionally quit their jobs in the same month. This is the highest number in decades.

“We are observing an entire bundle of individuals who are on a break,”

Said Dr. Ramnath Chellappa, the Associate Dean and Academic Director of the Master of Science in Business Analytics program at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

He said the labor shortage is because of a blend of many factors welcomed by the pandemic.

“There are various folks who are reevaluating their work life. It’s become obvious that various folks would prefer not to get back to the office,” he said.

He said many have become OK with working from home and are currently seeking out jobs that permit them to continue to do that.

Vaccine mandates at companies are contributing to the trouble in hiring or retaining employees. More employment opportunities also mean more options for work seekers, so individuals are going for jobs that pay even somewhat more.

I’m a nice guy.. Sort of. I write about money, health, and economy. Don’t worry, I’m not Hemingway, and I don’t want to compete with him and neither would he.
